Our Mission Statement
The children and youths in the third world countries particularly Sierra Leone suffers tremendous difficulties as they grow up to maturity due to abject poverty of the parents and lack of social security and economic facilities in the local communities. The ten years civil conflict in Sierra Leone compounded these difficulties. A lot of children are out of school and living in deplorable and repressive conditions mostly on the streets of big towns and cities. Majority of the youths are not educated and lack livelihood skills for their survival. They are therefore marginalized and deprived of gainful employment opportunities.
The Youth Salvation Trust is very much concerned over the present predicaments of the children and youths in Sierra Leone and therefore opts to provide charitable services to help improve their living conditions.
In this regard the organization will:
- Provide scholarship and educational facilities for school children so that the school dropout rate and children not yet in school in the villages would be encouraged to go to school.
- Establish and support vocational skills training centers for the youths already out of school.
- Help provide health and sanitation facilities and services in the village communities in order to improve the living conditions of the local people.
